Category selection rules:
1. All first year members are encouraged to compete in the Principles categories. These are individual categories for first year members only. There are also other individual and team categories but they will have seasoned DECA members competing in them. IT IS SUGGESTED THAT NEW MEMBERS COMPETE IN THE PRINCIPLES CATEGORIES.
2. All other members can choose from the Team or Individual events. Students are encouraged to compete in the Individual events as more students in these categories advance to the state competition.
3. All members are welcome to work on a written project - these compete at the state level. Any student that wishes to complete a project must still attend and compete at the District level.
4. Students will need to make 1st, 2nd, and 3rd choices when requesting their category.
